POSITION SUMMARY

The Direct Support Professional provides direct care at the ADT program. This program provides day services in Elk County to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional provides daily individualized care to each consumer while encouraging independence, respecting personal preferences, and ensuring their health and welfare.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School diploma or GED

Experience

  • Age 18 or older
  • MCR minimum: One year as a Therapeutic Activities Services Trainee; or one year of professional experience in the field of therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, vocational adjustment services, or art, music, or dance therapy, and graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in therapeutic recreation, physical education, vocational rehabilitation, vocational education or counseling, occupation, art, music, or dance therapy, or a related human services field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, driver for 3 years
  • Capacity to successfully complete first aid, CPR, and medication administration courses
